Finals Week!

Monday & Tuesday:  Prepare for the Final

On the test, students will be covering Chapters 5, 6, 7, and parts of 8, 9 & 10.

• We will be doing a brief overview each day, refreshing our knowledge of each chapter.
• Monday, we will work from the texted book, and Tuesday we will go to the computer lab to practice online.
  • Chapter 5 – Analyzing Linear Equations
  • Chapter 6 – Solving Linear Inequalities
  • Chapter 7 – Solving Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities
• Parts of Chapters 8 & 9.
  • Chapter 8
    • Lesson 1 – Multiplying Monomials
    • Lesson 2 – Dividing Monomials
    • Lesson 5 – Adding and Subtracting Polynomials
    • Lesson 6 – Multiplying a Polynomial by a Monomial
    • Lesson 7 – Multiplying Polynomials
  • Chapter 9
    • Lesson 1 – Factors and Greatest Common Factors
    • Lesson 2 – Factoring Using the Distributive Property
    • Lesson 3 – Factoring Trinomials: x2 + bx + c
    • Lesson 4 – Factoring Trinomials: ax2 + bx + c

Wednesday: Half Day Morning/Finals Afternoon

Final preperation/overview for the test.

Thursday: Final will be given during second block.

Finals Week!

Monday & Tuesday:  Prepare for Semester 2 Final

Goal: refresh the students’ memory of Chapters 5 – 7 and parts of 8.

• Discuss what the final will be about and how it will affect their grade.
• Students will go to the Computer Lab in the Math Pod.
  • Each student will be taking the practice tests found online at the textbook website. 
  • Students should use scratch paper and graph paper to work out each problem before answering. 
  • Students will have the opportunity to have problems demonstrated for the class if they demonstrate they worked through the problems and still are having a hard time with finding the answer.
• Chapter 5 Practice Test:  Proportional Reasoning and Probability
• Chapter 6 Practice Test:  Functions and Graphs
• Chapter 7 Practice Test:  Linear Equations
• Chapter 8 Selected Sections:
  • 8-2  Multiplying and Dividing Powers
  • 8-3  Negative Exponents
  • 8-7  The Pythagorean Theorem

Wednesday:  Half Day Classes with Finals starting in the afternoon.

Goal:  Discuss tomorrow’s final and what else they need to prepare for.

• Answer any questions the students have about the Chapter Practice Tests.

Thursday:  Finals Day for Algebra

Friday:  All Algebra Classes Completed
