Math Survey Week of 3-24-2008
Note: This week we will focus on Volume and Surface Area of 3-Dimensional objects.
Monday: Post view of Chapter 4 Test & Discussion on Volume
Goal: Identify the correct formula to find the volume of a 3-D object.
- Post view of Chapter 4 Test
- Volume of Prism & Cylinder = Area of Base × Height of object
- Volume of Pyramid & Cone = ⅓ × Area of Base × Height of object
- Class Practice
Tuesday: Surface Area Discussion and Practice
Goal: Identify the correct formula to find the Surface Area of a 3-D figure.
- Warm-up check on volume
- Surface Area of Prisms and Pyramids
- Surface Area of a Cylinder = (2×π×d×hieght of Cylinder) × (π×r²)
- Class Practice
