Note:  Changes have been made based on student understanding.

Monday:  Lesson 6-3 Graphing Linear Equations

Goal:  Understand and Identify Linear Equations.  Replace one variable (x or y) to find ordered pairs for a given equation, and then graph them.

  • 5-Minute Check over Lesson 6-2
  • Correct and Discuss Worksheet Lesson 6-1 & 6-2
  • Lesson 6-3 “Linear Equations”
    • What makes an equation linear?
    • Create your own domain to find range and the solution set
    • Graph the results
    • Class Practice (4 Problems given to them with graph paper) Due Tuesday
    • Absent Students can click here for EXAMPLES and click here to take the Lesson 6-3 Self-Check Quiz.

Tuesday:    Quiz on Lessons 6-1, & 6-2 Goal:  Display understanding of relations, domain, range, linear equations, and graphing.

    • Calculators
  • Arithmetic Sequences
    • Students will find the next few terms of a sequence.

Wednesday:  Arithmetic Sequences as Linear Equations

Goal: Students understand that there are patterns in linear equations and you can use these patterns to write an equation and find more terms.

  • Arithmetic Sequences
  • Find the nth Term in a sequence
  • Make connections between linear equations and arithmetic sequences.

Thursday:  Redo Lesson 6-3 Graphing Linear Equations

Goal:  Understand and Identify Linear Equations.  Replace one variable (x or y) to find ordered pairs for a given equation, and then graph them.
